About the Harley-Davidson® VRSC V-Rod:
The Harley-Davidson® VRSC was first released in 2001, it was developed to battle against the growing range of Japanese and American “muscle bikes”. The V-Rod features several distinct features compared to the rest of the Harley-Davidson® range. First is the engine, developed with assistance from Porsche the Revolution engine uses overhead cams and liquid cooling, these are unique features within the Harley-Davidson range to the V-Rod. Since 2001 Harley-Davidson® have released a number of V-Rod models and have greatly increased the range, these models include:

The Revolution engine the Harley-Davidson® VRSC range use is based on the VR-1000 race bike development program. It’s a liquid cooled, dual overhead cam, internally counterbalanced 60 degree V-Twin engine, with a displacement of 1130cc. It produces 115BHP as standard at the crank, with a redline of 9,000rpm. From 2005 a Screamin’ Eagle version of the Revolution Engine was made which was 1250cc, this became the standard engine from 2008 across the entire VRSC line. From then various engines have been released, including the Screamin’ Eagle 1300cc, which produces over 165BHP.
